Although this book is written by a kick-ass romance author, it has some of the best advice I've read. Ever. This book delves into areas like finances and personal growth. I've yet to find another as good as this.
Sharpen your grammar skills, dig into the rules of lexicon, write well! It's covered in this thin, but powerful book by the author of Charlotte's Web, E.B. White. One of my favorite authors.

It is every bit big and magical. In a way, Gilbert approaches creativity in the similar (yet unique) style of Robert Olen Butler above. Humorous, helpful and every page a pleasure to read.
This was a classroom textbook for my creative writing 1 or 2 or something. But I loved it, especially the anthology of short stories in the back.
